One of the best parts of mobile detailing is that you don't have to go anywhere — we come to your home or workplace. A few minutes of prep beforehand helps the appointment run smoothly and lets us spend the time on cleaning instead of working around things. Here's a simple checklist.
1. Clear out personal items
This is the big one. Take out anything you'll want back: sunglasses, chargers, paperwork, gym bags, kids' toys, and anything in the cargo area. Check the glove box, center console, door pockets, and seat-back pockets too.
It's not that we mind working around your things — it's that we can't clean under them. Clearing the vehicle means every surface gets attention, and nothing important gets misplaced. Trash is fine to leave; we'll handle that.
2. Remove car seats if you can
Child seats hide a surprising amount of crumbs and spills underneath. If you're comfortable removing and reinstalling them, take them out before we arrive so we can clean the seat and carpet beneath. If not, let us know and we'll work around them.
3. Plan where the vehicle will be parked
We need room to open every door fully and walk around the vehicle. A driveway or a spot in a parking lot with some space on each side works well. When you request your appointment, let us know:
- Where the vehicle will be parked (home driveway, apartment lot, workplace)
- Whether there are any HOA, apartment, or workplace rules about on-site services
- Any gate codes or parking instructions
If you're not sure your location works, text us a quick description and we'll confirm. We'll also go over any setup questions when we confirm the appointment.
4. Flag the trouble spots
You know your vehicle better than anyone. Tell us about:
- Stains you'd like us to focus on (coffee, juice, makeup, mystery spots)
- Pet hair — how much and where
- Odors and what you think caused them
- Anything delicate, like aftermarket electronics or loose trim
Photos are even better. Attaching a few pictures to your quick quote request helps us plan time and give an accurate price before we arrive.
5. Make sure we can get in
If you'll be at work or busy during the appointment, plan how we'll access the vehicle and where the keys will be. Many customers simply hand us the keys and go about their day. We'll do a quick walk-around with you before starting and a walk-through when we finish.
6. Keep an eye on the weather
Rain doesn't always stop interior work, but exterior services and protection products need dry conditions to turn out right. If the forecast looks rough, we'll reach out about rescheduling or adjusting what we do that day.
What you don't need to do
- Don't wash the car first. That's our job, and we'll do it the right way.
- Don't vacuum. Seriously — save yourself the effort.
- Don't try to pre-treat stains with household cleaners. Some products can set stains or damage certain fabrics. Just point them out.
How long will it take?
It depends on the package and the vehicle's condition. As a rough guide, our Express Refresh takes about 3 hours, an Interior Deep Clean about 4, and The Works about 5. After the detail
Fabric seats and carpet can stay slightly damp for a few hours after steam cleaning and extraction. Cracking the windows on a dry day helps them dry faster. If we applied a sealant or coating, we'll let you know about any wash or rain guidance for the first few days.
